The James Project

The third world teems with forgotten children; among them are orphaned street beggars, child prostitutes, and pre-teens sold into industrial slavery.

In Latin America alone, an estimated 15 million children roam the streets. Most of the children are between the ages of seven and 14, are forced to steal or beg for food and live in danger of abuse and/or rape.

In Africa, the Kibera slum of Nairobi (approximately 600 acres, about the size of Manhattan's Central Park) is home to 1.2 million of Kenya’s poorest citizens. More than 25% of the Kibera residents have tested positive for HIV/AIDS; more than 50% of the population is under the age of 15; and approximately 80% of all youth are unemployed.

The mission of The James Project is to rescue the orphaned, the abandoned, and the abused. We are committed to providing a home, comfort, safety, security, love, and daily needs for third world street children.

“The project’s vision goes far beyond our first orphanage in Guatemala.
I hope we eventually open 100 orphanages in third-world countries around the globe,”

- Myron McKee, Founder of the James Project.
